Applications

Where can MultiZero Clamping System be implemented

Milling machines

The primary application of the MultiZero Clamping System is on milling machines, whether they are 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis, standalone or integrated with automation. With its extensive workholding portfolio, the system seamlessly adapts to all these setups, making it suitable for use across the entire production floor (multiple machines) and enabling the standardization of clamping processes.

Sink EDM machines

The MultiZero Clamping System is perfectly suited for sink EDM machines, offering flexible zero-point clamping. Additionally, workpieces can be seamlessly transferred from other machines, such as milling, onto the sink EDM using the MultiZero Pallet—without losing the initial zero-point.
 
Complementing the EDM offering, the MultiZero product portfolio includes a MultiZero EDM pallet designed for machining multiple electrodes simultaneously and preconfigured to accommodate various electrode holder standards.

Measuring machines

With the MultiZero Clamping System installed on measuring machines, finished workpieces can be seamlessly transferred from finishing operations while maintaining the same reference zero-point position. If measurement errors are detected, the workpiece can easily be returned to its original position for reprocessing, ensuring precise and efficient corrections.

Repeatability and Accuracy

While the MultiZero Clamping System cannot be directly used for workholding on wire EDM machines (as the wire would damage it), it seamlessly enables zero-point offset transfers of workpieces from other machine operations. This is achieved using the MultiZero Adapter Plate. The workpiece is removed from the MultiZero Pallet, transferred to the wire EDM machine, and then returned to the pallet using the SINCO standard. The preexisting positioning holes between the adapter plate and the MultiZero pallet ensure precise re-alignment and consistent accuracy.

Over six months, productivity increased by 30–40%, with future projects, such as carrier production for assembly, projected to push productivity gains to 50–60%.
