MultiZero® Clamping System

The MultiZero® Clamping System represents a new generation of machine tables that offer an all-in-one clamping experience. Make your clamping layout zero-point friendly!

What is zero-point clamping system?

A zero-point clamping system is a type of clamping equipment that allows the user to precisely and quickly clamp the workpiece, without the need for additional centering or positioning on the machine. Zero-point clamping systems can be operated in various ways, such as mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic.

This type of operation not only improves set-up times and reduces the downtime associated with machining but also reduces the operator’s role, which minimizes the possibility of errors.

The advantages of a zero-point clamping system can be quickly seen in increased machine capacity and the overall decreasement of made mistakes through standardization of processing.

Through a zero-point clamping system, the time spent on the machining process can be used to set up additional parts outside the machine.

SINCO zero-point clamping system.

Unlike existing zero-point clamping solutions, SINCO clamping system has realized the best transformation of classic clamping into zero-point clamping, as it does not deprive the user of important segments that one was used to having before the introduction of zero-point clamping to the production. By using the SINCO zero-point clamping system, users not only get premium zero-point repeatability and accuracy with handling of the workpiece, but are also still able to perform their clamping with the same degree of flexibility, variety of clamping options, and overall freedom, as they were used to with classical clamping.

As an interface between the machine table and the workholding device, MultiZero® is characterized by an enormous range of variations and provides a solution for nearly any machine tool when it comes to set-up time savings and minimization of downtimes. Rectangular or square in shape, the MultiZero® Clamping System can be used universally in vertical and horizontal machining centers, on 3- and 5-axis machine tables, and on 4-axis horizontal tombstone systems.

MultiZero® Features

Clamping Flexibility & Safety

  • System enables moving in zero point position in array of 50x50mm or 100x100mm, which offers unlimited options on how to clamp the workpiece and reduces the room for errors in clamping
  • Flexible arrangements of pallets, workpieces, vises or fixtures allow the coverage of most of the available working surface, which maxes out the production capacity.

Large number of zero points

  • The MultiZero® Clamping System offers up to 273 zero points in one solution, making it the market leader
  • Large number of defined zero points allow endless combinations of clamping layouts

Precise Positioning

  • Ensured by a unique array of conical slots that correspond to the conical surfaces of the centering elements embedded in every MultiZero® Pallet, vise or fixture
  • Allowing the user to always repeatedly clamp with an accuracy of 5μm
  • Every MultiZero® product is automatically self centered and oriented as it is put on the MultiZero® system
  • The influence of thermal expansion, which is a common phenomenon, does not affect the accuracy of the mutual positioning of the MultiZero® Plate or Pallet due to the unique positioning system

Repeatability and Accuracy

  • Users can achieve an unmatched consistency of quality while processing with a high degree of repeatability and precision
  • The MultiZero® Clamping System will, despite the constant exchange of pallets, workpieces, vises or fixtures, always achieve a clamping position with an accuracy of 5μm
  • The pallet can be moved, together with the workpiece, from one machine to another without losing the zero point

Clamping Force & Rigidity

  • Offers extremely high rigidity and clamping strength allowing the complete withstanding of high machining forces
  • Designed to accommodate the Z axis, while the other two axes are accommodated by aligning members, regardless of whether the clamping is being performed mechanically or automatically. This way, the system and the workpiece on the machine practically becomes one.

When does clamping technology increase productivity?

Quick change of workpieces with help of MultiZero® pallets.

The simplest yet most accurate explanation in the area of clamping is that the ideal workpiece clamping scenario is when set-up times are reduced and productivity is increased. Although this might sound simple, only excellent workpiece handling enables productivity to be regularly increased by at least 30 percent and in individual cases up to 90 percent. To achieve this kind of results without disrupting the quality of the processing, the clamping setup needs to not only offer great repeatability and accuracy, but also include key segments that the user was used to having before installing the new clamping system – etc. like flexibility, high clamping forces, and overall freedom in clamping.

With the use of MultiZero pallets®, users can clamp the unprocessed workpieces outside of the machine and quickly exchange them with finished workpieces on the machine, when the cycle is finished. SINCO® offers 5 different types of pallets with different surfaces, which helps when we deal with complex workpieces that need specific clamping.

Setup processes in comparison

  1. Plan the clamping technick
  2. Clean the machine table
  3. Clean the clamping device contact surfaces
  4. Position via the slot nuts
  5. Align
  6.  Fasten with clamping screws
  7. Determine the zero points
  8. Start the program
  9. End the program
  1. Clean the machine table
  2. Clean the clamping device contact surfaces
  3. Start the program
  4. End the program

Results of the MultiZero® Pallet system may vary from case to case, but the rule of thumb is that the system pays off in 6 to 12 months.
